Construction Health & Safety Support for a Specialist Contractor
A specialist landscaping and grounds contractor working as part of a complex multi-contractor project in Southern England.
The challenge
The contractor needed a clearer view of its own arrangements within a busy project involving several parties, mobile plant and interfaces with other workers and members of the public. Featherstone Safety reviewed the relevant documentation and working arrangements, then translated the findings into clear priorities.
The engagement had two connected parts. The first established the position through review. The second turned that position into working documentation the contractor could use day to day.
Part one
Site compliance and construction documentation
The contractor needed an independent review of its arrangements, responsibilities and working documentation within a complex construction environment.

Part two

The second part of the engagement converted the findings into working documentation. Featherstone Safety prepared COSHH and DSEAR assessments, noise and hand-arm vibration documentation, practical control measures and a monthly PPE check. Where exact equipment or exposure information required confirmation, the documents recorded the necessary verification actions clearly.

This work was documentary and evidence-based. No laboratory testing, occupational hygiene sampling or instrument measurement was carried out as part of the engagement. Where equipment detail or actual exposure duration remained to be confirmed, the assessments recorded the assumption and the verification action required rather than presenting an unverified figure as a measured fact.
